Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a growing accountancy practice in the recruitment of an Accounts Senior to join their friendly audit team to assist with the accounts. This opportunity would suit an ACA or ACCA part-qualified, finalist or qualified accountant with experience in a fast-paced practice environment and who is looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio.

Working closely with the Accounts Director, you will prepare statutory accounts and tax returns, manage client relationships, and review the work of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare statutory year-end accounts under FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105
  • Prepare corporation tax returns and directors personal tax returns
  • Manage your own client portfolio, ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines
  • Meet with clients to discuss accounts, financial records and resolve queries
  • Review work prepared by junior staff, providing feedback and ensuring review points are cleared
  • Prepare files and supporting reports for Accounts Director review
  • Mentor and support junior team members with their day-to-day development
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional firm services where appropriate
Key Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA finalist or qualified
  • Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Good working knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105
  • Experience preparing consolidations
  • Confident managing client relationships and communicating technical matters clearly
  • Experience supporting or reviewing junior staff
