An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Technician or Accounts Senior to join its General Practice team in Ely. Working with a varied portfolio of SME and individual clients, the successful candidate will support the delivery of accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping, and advisory services. Role Responsibilities
- Preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Completing corporation tax computations and returns.
- Preparing personal and partnership tax returns.
- Providing bookkeeping and management accounting services.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC.
- Assisting clients with payroll-related matters including P11Ds and CIS returns.
- Producing projections and forecasting information for clients.
- Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and provide support.
- Using integrated cloud and paperless accounting software systems.
- Supporting client relationship management and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Reviewing and finalising client work to draft accounts stage.
- Assisting with company secretarial duties and Companies House submissions.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where appropriate.
- Attending networking events and contributing to business development activities.
Personal Requirements
- AAT part-qualified or fully qualified.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Good working knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance.
- Experience preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping records.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
