Butler Rose are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing professional services firm in Leeds that is looking to strengthen its Private Client Tax team with the appointment of a Tax Advisor / Tax Senior. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of private clients, alongside opportunities to become involved in advisory work and develop specialist tax knowledge. The successful candidate will join an experienced team and work closely with clients, colleagues and senior tax professionals, providing both compliance and advisory support across a broad range of private client matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of private clients and supporting their ongoing tax compliance requirements
  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns
  • Assisting with a range of private client advisory projects
  • Supporting clients with matters relating to Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and Income Tax planning
  • Assisting with trusts, estates and succession planning work
  • Liaising directly with clients and third parties to obtain information and resolve queries
  • Identifying planning opportunities and providing proactive support to clients
  • Working closely with colleagues across wider service lines
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and regulations
  • Supporting senior members of the tax team on ad-hoc projects and technical matters

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience within a private client tax role
  • Experience gained within an accountancy practice, tax consultancy or professional services environment
  • ATT, AAT, CTA studier or qualified candidates will all be considered
  • A good understanding of UK personal taxation principles
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively
  • A proactive approach and desire to continue developing professionally
