A growing manufacturing business in the South West is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to support the next phase of its growth. This is a key role within the business, working closely with senior leaders to improve financial performance, controls, and reporting. This is not a purely transactional role – you will play an active part in driving commercial decisions, improving processes, and supporting growth.
Key responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets
- Take ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting
- Deliver weekly and monthly financial performance reporting
- Manage budgeting and track spend across departments
- Provide analysis on profitability, costs, and performance
- Monitor cashflow, working capital, debtors, and creditors
- Improve financial controls and reporting processes
- Support audit, VAT, payroll, and compliance requirements
- Work closely with operations, sales, and procurement teams
- Support ERP / system improvements and reporting accuracy
- Mentor and support junior finance team members
About you
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
- Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar environment
- Confident with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills (ERP experience preferred)
- Hands-on, detail-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced setting
- Good communicator, able to work with non-finance stakeholders
- Commercially aware and proactive in improving performance
