Are you a qualified accountant with strong month-end experience, a passion for accurate financial reporting, and an eye on ESG developments? We're working exclusively with a well-established global client who are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to their UK finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role within a dynamic, collaborative finance function.

As the Financial Accountant, you will be instrumental in delivering an accurate month-end close process, supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, and ensuring compliance with group reporting standards. Working within a small team you will gain excellent exposure to senior stakeholders while also supporting wider UK finance operations. This role also offers the chance to contribute to business-critical initiatives, from audit and tax compliance through to ESG data reporting and transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with Corporate and EMEA deadlines.
  • Support the Financial Controller in preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to financial policies.
  • Assist with VAT returns and liaise with external advisors on corporate tax submissions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for ESG reporting.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider UK finance team.
Who are we looking for?
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Solid experience in management accounting and month-end processes (accruals, prepayments, variance analysis).
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
  • A strong understanding of statutory reporting, tax, and financial compliance.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
