Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly innovative and internationally recognised Exeter business. Our client is an award-winning organisation with a strong global presence, an extensive and growing product portfolio, and a track record of award-winning innovation. They are now seeking a Supply Chain Assistant to support their expanding operations and play a key role in the ongoing development of their supply chain function.
This is a varied and hands-on position suited to an experienced Supply Chain Assistant who is comfortable working with multiple suppliers and taking ownership of day-to-day purchasing and inventory activities. The role will support demand planning, forecasting and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Raising, issuing and expediting purchase orders
- Managing supplier communication and supporting performance against KPIs such as OTIF
- Maintaining accurate data within stock and inventory systems
- Supporting inventory management and ensuring availability to meet demand
- Providing detailed shipping and delivery information
- Working cross-functionally to support wider operational objectives
- Assisting with supply chain improvements and process optimisation
About You
You will be a proactive and highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be a confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external suppliers, and naturally inquisitive with a desire to improve the way things are done.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to analyse data accurately
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Experience of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma or similar)
- Working towards, or interest in studying towards, CIPS
