We are supporting a client in Exeter with the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team during a period of operational change, offering varied exposure across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Master Data. This role offers broad financial administration experience, with responsibilities rotating in line with business needs.

Initially, the focus will be supporting the wider finance team to ensure accurate processing of Accounts Payable activity, including correct coding, invoice matching, and handling supplier queries across multiple international entities. As the assignment progresses, the role will expand to support Accounts Receivable and contribute to wider finance projects, helping ensure efficiency within a new IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting purchase ledger invoices
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders
  • Resolving supplier queries promptly and professionally
  • Supporting weekly payment runs
  • Assisting the Accounts Receivable team with posting bank transactions
  • Providing project and cross-functional support as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a general finance support role
  • AAT Qualified or proven similar level
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage queries professionally and efficiently
  • A proactive attitude with the willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
