A well-established Civil Engineering business based in Bootle is seeking an experienced and organised Payroll Manager to join its growing finance team. The Role

As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company's weekly and monthly payroll processes, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You will work closely with the finance team and operational departments to maintain payroll accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in line with HMRC regulations
  • Maintain employee payroll records and handle payroll-related queries
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, pensions, and statutory payments
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Liaise with external bodies including HMRC and pension providers
  • Support the wider finance team with accounts administration and related duties
  • Assist with continuous improvements to payroll and finance processes

About You

  • Previous experience managing payroll end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident using payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
