We are seeking an experienced Interim Project Accountant to support a critical piece of group-wide change across COGS and stock reporting, systems, and operational processes. This is a hands-on transformation role, combining finance expertise, systems understanding, and project management, with a strong focus on developing consistent, scalable group-wide stock management processes – not just for finance, but across the wider business.
The Role
- Lead and support projects to improve the accuracy, consistency and transparency of COGS and stock reporting
- Navigate and assess existing finance and stock systems, identifying gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Act as a bridge between Finance, Merchandising, IT and Operations to align data, processes and reporting
- Help design and implement group-wide stock and inventory management processes
- Document and create clear, practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for stock, COGS and related processes
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical finance capability with excellent systems and project experience. You will likely have:
- Proven experience as an Interim Project Accountant, Finance Systems Accountant or similar
- Strong knowledge of COGS, stock and inventory accounting
- Experience working with and navigating ERP / finance and stock systems
- A track record of process improvement and documentation (SOP writing)
- Experience working cross-functionally with non-finance teams (e.g. Merchandising, IT, Operations)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills – able to translate finance concepts for the wider business
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to work comfortably in an evolving project environment
