Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting one of our clients based in Dudley. They have an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant/Payroll Officer to join their team.

Role Requirements:

  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements.
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll for multiple clients, including PAYE, National Insurance, and statutory payments.
  • Submit RTI reports to HM Revenue & Customs and assist with payroll year-end processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and perform reconciliations.
  • Provide support to clients with accounting software and respond to queries.

Personal Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice or payroll environment.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or IRIS.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Studying or interested in studying Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) would be advantageous.
