Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the finance team of a large and highly successful business at their Head Office in Plymouth. This role will see you take responsibility for several cost centres - ensuring all expenditure is accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, great attention to detail, and a passion for financial accuracy to join a well-established organisation with a supportive and collaborative working culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a selection of cost centres and balance sheet codes
- Post and evidence monthly accruals, prepayments and other journals as required
- Analyse costs versus budgets and communicate key variances to the Finance Manager team
- Process company expenses and credit card expenditure
- Code expenditure invoices via the data capture system, ensuring payment deadlines are met
- Conduct aged creditor reviews and supplier statement reconciliations
- Support budgeting and reforecasting activities
- Play a key role in meeting month-end and year-end deadlines
- Undertake ad-hoc finance tasks as required
Skills & Requirements
- Financial qualification (AAT or equivalent) preferred
- Previous experience within a similar finance or accounts role
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Confident IT user with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work 5 days a week in office
