Butler Rose is recruiting a proactive and commercially minded Project Accountant to support the financial management of projects across a growing business. Working closely with the Finance Director and Commercial team, you will be responsible for project accounting, cost value reconciliations, financial reporting, payment applications, and debtor management. You will act as a key finance business partner, providing insight into project performance, supporting cash collection, and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly project accounts and cost value reconciliations.
- Monitor project costs, revenues, margins, and cash flow.
- Support and track client payment applications.
- Manage trade debtors and assist with cash collection activities.
- Produce project financial reports and variance analysis.
- Partner with Commercial and Operations teams to support project decision-making.
- Assist with board reporting, audits, and financial compliance requirements.
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or QBE.
- Experience in project accounting or management accounting, ideally within construction, engineering, or another project-based environment.
- Strong understanding of project costing, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing debtors and supporting credit control processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems knowledge.
