Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a growing and long-established independent accountancy practice in the recruitment of Senior Accountant/Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on practice professional to manage their own portfolio while managing the accounts team and an offshoring team. The role would suit either an experienced Manager or a Senior Accountant looking for a managerial role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a client portfolio, primarily sole traders and small limited companies
  • Prepare and review accounts, personal tax returns, VAT, CIS, bookkeeping, and MTD requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong long-term relationships
  • Manage and support the accounts team as well as an outsourced team
  • Reviewing work and ensure workflow management
  • Reporting directly into Senior Manager and Managing Director
  • Work across TaxCalc, Quickbooks and cloud-based accounting software platforms

Key Requirements

  • ACCA/ACA qualified (PQ or QBE candidates are encouraged to apply)
  • Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment operating a managerial role
  • Previous experience managing a team (managing an offshore team is highly beneficial)
  • Confident managing a client portfolio and being client-facing
  • Experience across accounts, personal tax, VAT, bookkeeping, and CIS
  • Knowledge of TaxCalc, Quickbooks, Xero & Sage
  • Organised, approachable, and hands-on in your working style
