A well-established and growing multi-site business is looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team based in Carlisle. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and partnering with stakeholders across multiple business units. Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while supporting operational decision-making across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple business units, ensuring reporting deadlines are met
- Production of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Supporting budget holders with financial analysis and performance reviews
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining fixed asset registers
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Coordinating financial information from international operations
- Posting monthly journals to the general ledger
- Producing ad hoc financial analysis, reports, and business performance data as required
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a similar management accounting role / Assistant Management Accountant role
- Strong systems skills, including advanced spreadsheet experience and exposure to finance/database systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills, with confidence partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work effectively within a team
