BMS & DOCUMENT CONTROL LEAD

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Contract: 2 years

Are you an experienced Information Management and Document Control professional looking for your next opportunity?

We're looking for a BMS & Document Control Lead to take ownership of Business Management Systems (BMS) and Information Management, ensuring best practice, compliance and effective document control across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional in document management, data management and information governance to join the business on a 2-year contract, playing a key role in supporting business operations, asset integrity and process safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and maintain Business Management Systems (BMS) and Information Management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory legislation, company standards and procedures.
  • Oversee document control, including drawings, registers, document numbering and archiving.
  • Manage document distribution, tracking, reporting and quality assurance.
  • Support the effective management of structured and unstructured business data.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on document control procedures and best practice.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant documentation.
  • Manage outsourced support and carry out regular assurance activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent.
  • An Information Management qualification.
  • Proven experience in document control, data management and information management.
  • Experience working with Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Teams.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage high volumes of documentation accurately and consistently.
  • A good understanding of information governance, processes and best practice.
