Butler Rose is working with one of the UK's leading facilities management and professional services companies in their search for a Billing Assistant to join their team. This is a contract role until the end of September 2025, based in Birmingham and will pay £12.21 an hour PAYE to the successful candidate.
The purpose of the role is to assist the Billing Team Leader & Commercial Management. The Billing Assistant will have a keen eye for prioritisation and ensuring contractual commitments are met while maximising revenue and profit margin on the contract. The role involves providing a technical review of all works accurately, correctly inputting chargeable works through the client for payment, along with dealing with work order queries.
Duties:
- Provide a technical daily review of all works logged, identifying, valuating and recovering costs for chargeable reactive, additional and project works/PPM Remedial for the contract.
- Maximise and recover costs associated with chargeable out of scope works and task orders in a timely manner as per contractual timeframe, by billing the Client via CAFM system and Application for Payment process.
- Provide accuracy and ensure a full detailed summary is presented to the Client when applying for Application for Payment, to reduce the risk of potential queries.
- Analyse and review value for money being submitted for review.
- Work closely with the Contract teams to ensure PPMs and remedial works are charged in accordance with the contract.
- Escalate, chase and resolve queries effectively within the specified time limit as per the process.
- Meet daily targets of 70-80 WOs submitted per day.
Ideal candidate will have:
- A strong Admin background within Facilities Management knowledge (desirable).
- A flexible approach to work with competent skills in Microsoft Office applications, including extensive use of Excel.
- The ability to prioritise own workload at pace, working with multiple deadlines and duties accurately and timely.
- Data entry experience, capable of working with a high volume of transactions.
- A strong attention to detail when critically examining numerical, financial and written data, with the ability to keep the quantity of works submitted high.
- The capability to remain calm under pressure, command respect, have the confidence of their colleagues and communicate effectively at all levels.
Other responsibilities/requirements/skills to eye on:
- Facilities Management experience.
- Maximo/CAFM experience.
- Good Excel Skills.
