Due to continues growth, a well-established, forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee a client portfolio, mentor junior colleagues and ensure that work is delivered on time and to an exceptional standard. The role offers the opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with client relationship management and commercial awareness.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of accounts and tax compliance services for a portfolio of UK businesses.
- Supervise and support junior team members, helping to manage workloads and deadlines.
- Review and finalise statutory accounts and tax filings, raising queries with clients as needed.
- Analyse financial data and prepare reports, budgets and management information for clients.
- Provide practical accounting and tax advice in line with current legislation.
- Prepare client correspondence, including explanations of variances and tax liabilities.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, conducting meetings and building strong relationships.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and advisory work, ensuring commercial awareness at all times.
Personal Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA)
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills
