Butler Rose are pleased to be recruiting for a Tax Manager / Tax Senior based in Stockport with a well-established accountancy practice that provides personal and corporate tax, audit, and advisory services to a wide range of clients. This full‑position offers an exciting opportunity to work on varied client matters while developing your career in a supportive and professional environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and review personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Prepare and review corporation tax returns and associated computations, providing accurate and timely submissions.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on routine tax matters to clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, acting as their first point of contact for tax related queries.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning and advisory work, supporting clients in achieving efficient tax outcomes.
  • Work closely with other teams within the practice to ensure coordinated delivery of services.
  • Keep up to date with UK tax legislation, ensuring clients are informed of any relevant changes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance and training as required.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and assist with marketing or client engagement events when needed.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in personal tax compliance.
  • Experience in corporation tax compliance.
  • Recent experience working in a UK practice environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with tax software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in tax planning is desirable but not essential.
