Butler Rose are delighted to be working in partnership with a well‑established and highly regarded firm in Cleckheaton who are seeking a Payroll Manager to replace a seasoned Payroll professional who is retiring. This is a rare opportunity to inherit a well‑managed, stable payroll department within a supportive and professional environment, running payrolls via Sage both weekly and monthly.
If you are an experienced payroll professional with ideally 5yrs+ end‑to‑end payroll processing inhouse or possess bureau/practice experience, seeking flexibility alongside autonomy, this could be an ideal move.
The RoleYou will take ownership running payrolls in the main for up to 40 employees in addition to additional larger payrolls c 100 employees, therefore you should be experienced and competent in running both small and large volume payrolls.
Responsibilities include:- End‑to‑end weekly and monthly payroll processing via SAGE (training can be provided)
- Auto‑enrolment pension submissions
- CIS submissions
- SMP, SSP, redundancy and statutory calculations
- Holiday pay calculations
- Payroll journals
- RTI submissions and statutory reporting
- Maintaining up‑to‑date payroll legislation knowledge
- Managing and building strong relationships both over the telephone and email
- Proven payroll experience within an inhouse/practice or Bureau environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
- Experience using Sage 50 (preferred)
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently
- Professional and confident communicating with HMRC, payroll queries, colleagues etc
£29,500 - £32,000 (FTE) pro rata
