We are currently working with a growing SME operating in the manufacturing sector. As a small but ambitious team, they value individuals who are hands-on, adaptable and eager to take ownership. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong manufacturing accounting knowledge, particularly in standard costing who is ready to make a real impact from day one. This position will offer the opportunity to work from home one day a week with flexible start times.
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being actively involved in both day-to-day finance operations and month-end close process, producing timely management accounts. You will play a key role in driving process improvements and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate reconciliation of all bank accounts.
- Manage and post all expense and company credit card transactions.
- Investigate purchase price variances and work closely with the procurement team to resolve issues.
- Lead the month-end close process and produce timely management accounts.
- Provide clear commentary on key variances in the monthly reporting pack.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee cashflow management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Support annual budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for management.
- Contribute to Health & Safety committee initiatives and accreditation audits.
- Play an active role in our NetSuite optimisation team, ensuring our ERP system supports efficiency and scalability.
- Continuously improve financial processes, reporting, and controls.
- QBE, Qualified or part-qualified accountant, must have strong management accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing accounting or/and standard costing.
- Comfortable working in an SME environment where you will be hands-on as well as strategic.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to take ownership of tasks and projects.
