I am supporting an infrastructure business with an Interim Financial Accountant to lead the financial statements workstream across a multi-entity UK and European group. The role will review auditor-produced statutory accounts, challenge accounting treatment, reconcile statements to the general ledger and leave clear, supportable opening balances.
The assignment:
- The consolidated audit is substantially complete, but several local statutory audits remain open.
- You will act as the company-side technical reviewer, ensuring the accounts, notes and disclosures are accurate, consistent and properly supported.
Key responsibilities:
- Review statutory accounts for technical accuracy and consistency.
- Challenge accounting treatment and support final positions.
- Reconcile accounts to the general ledger and track adjustments.
- Review notes, disclosures and supporting commentary.
- Drive local statutory audits to completion with external auditors.
- Document clear bridges between opening and closing positions.
The right candidate:
- You will be technically strong, audit-aware and confident reviewing statutory accounts across multiple entities.
- You will be comfortable challenging auditors, working through ledger detail and producing outputs that stand up to scrutiny.
Essential experience:
- Qualified accountant or QBE with strong statutory reporting experience.
- Audit or statutory accounts background.
- Strong technical accounting and GL reconciliation skills.
- Multi-entity experience; infrastructure or project-based sectors desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills.
