I am seeking an Interim Financial Accountant to own the cashbook and bank reconciliation workstream for a growing infrastructure business. The role will rebuild the cash position, correct historic treatment and establish a repeatable process for BAU handover. The assignment Cashbook reconciliation stopped during a transaction process and the gap has since reopened. You will bring the reconciliation up to date, unwind historic postings to Other Current Assets and resolve cash-related ledger issues.
Key responsibilities
- Update the cashbook reconciliation and clear the bank gap.
- Unwind historic treatment of bank differences in Other Current Assets.
- Investigate and clear reconciling items and unallocated cash.
- Post journals to correct and clear cash-related issues.
- Identify wider ledger issues surfaced through cash activity.
- Document and hand over a repeatable bank reconciliation process.

You will be a practical, detail-focused accountant who understands cash postings, journals and reconciliation logic. You will be confident following issues through to resolution and working with imperfect data.
Essential experience
- Strong cashbook and bank reconciliation experience.
- Experience rebuilding incomplete or unreliable cash reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of cash postings, journals and balance sheet impact.
- Advanced Excel and transaction data analysis skills.
- Experience documenting and handing over finance processes.
