An opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join the SME team of a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy firm in Manchester. With a modern, open-plan office in the city centre, this team supports a wide range of growing SMEs and owner-managed businesses across the North-West and beyond.
You will be part of a collaborative team that goes beyond compliance, offering hands-on advisory support, helping clients with everything from year-end accounts and tax returns to strategic planning, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.

What you'll be doing:
- Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a variety of sectors
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, offering clear, commercially-minded advice
- Supporting clients with financial modelling, forecasting, and business planning
- Reviewing work of junior staff and supporting their development
- Getting involved in project-based advisory work, including M&A support and business restructuring
What we're looking for:
- ACA or ACCA qualified with a solid background in general practice
- Experience managing your own portfolio of SME or OMB clients
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax compliance
- Commercially aware with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team
