Butler Rose, specialist finance recruiters, are delighted to be supporting a high-end, multi-site business in their search for an FP&A Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a commercially driven finance team, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to deliver meaningful financial insight that supports growth, efficiency and profitability.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance / Finance Director, the FP&A Accountant will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, budgeting and forecasting. You will act as a true business partner, providing clear commercial insight to support strategic decision‑making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models to support pricing, margin analysis, labour optimisation, investment decisions and scenario planning
- Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports
- Deliver timely month‑end P&L reporting with detailed variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) and clear commercial commentary
- Ensure accuracy, consistency and integrity of financial data across reporting cycles
- Monitor and analyse KPIs (e.g. revenue per cover/room, labour %, margin, occupancy, yield)
- Support budget planning and forecasting processes, working closely with operational teams
- Build, maintain and continuously enhance advanced Excel models
- Drive reporting efficiencies through automation, including Power Query and data transformation
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support strategic projects as required
You will also collaborate cross-functionally, build strong relationships with operational teams, and contribute to continuous improvements in reporting accuracy, efficiency and cost control.
About You
Essential
- Proven experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance or Finance Analyst roles
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query essential, Power Pivot/DAX highly desirable)
- Experience in management accounts and month‑end reporting
- Strong analytical capability with experience handling large, complex datasets
- Ability to translate financial data into clear commercial insight
Desirable
- Part‑qualified or qualified accountant
- Experience within retail or multi‑site consumer environments
- Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Experience partnering operational teams in a fast‑paced setting
