Job Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior to join a well‑established firm. The firm is looking for an ambitious and proactive individual, ideally part‑qualified in ACA or ACCA who is eager to broaden their experience across both accounts and audit. The role will involve a varied workload, from preparing year‑end accounts to assisting with audits and building strong client relationships. Accounts Responsibilities
- Preparation of year‑end accounts for limited companies, including FRS102a and FRS105
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and LLPs
- Preparation of VAT returns and providing ad hoc bookkeeping support
Audit Responsibilities
- Assisting in all stages of the audit process, including planning and fieldwork
- Preparation of audit files in compliance with auditing standards
- Collaborating with the Audit Manager to prepare for and attend pre‑and post‑audit meetings with clients
- Reviewing and finalising audit files for review, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Visiting client sites to perform on‑site audit work
- Communicating with the Audit Manager to update on progress and identify any issues or concerns
- Maintaining strong client relationships by delivering high‑quality service and meeting deadlines
- Supporting and reviewing the work of junior colleagues, helping them develop their skills
Key Requirements
- ACA/ACCA part‑qualified or newly qualified, with a desire to progress further in your career
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in both accounts preparation and audit, within a practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS102a and FRS105, as well as accounting software
- Experience with accounting and audit software, such as CCH, Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Client‑focused approach, with a keen understanding of client needs and the ability to address them effectively
- A proactive, self‑starting attitude with the ability to manage own workload and priorities
