This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team of tax professionals, delivering high-quality advisory and compliance services to a varied client base. You will play a key role in shaping the strategy and direction of the private client tax function while building strong relationships with clients.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide expert tax advice and guidance to clients, managing compliance and planning projects effectively.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of tax professionals, ensuring high standards and consistent service delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and regulations to inform clients and the team.
  • Act as the primary client contact in the absence of partners, ensuring excellent client service.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within the private client sector, including attending seminars and building referral networks.
  • Review and sign-off high-risk tax returns and related documents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of team members to build long-term capability.
  • Uphold professional standards and risk management policies within all work activities.

Personal Requirements

  • CTA-qualified or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with significant experience in a practice environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop colleagues.
  • Commercially aware with proven business development experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing client and business needs.
  • Experience with CCH software is desirable but not essential.
