We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function within this organisation. This is a role suited to a QBE Accountant and ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and being a trusted business partner to senior leadership. The role is available on 4 days a week, permanent with some hybrid working. The role is not remote.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all financial activities, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and insightful analysis to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for the finance function, including month-end and year-end processes
  • Preparation of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Cashflow management and financial planning
  • VAT returns and statutory compliance
  • Managing relationships with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC
  • Developing and maintaining financial controls and processes
  • Providing financial insight and support to senior management

About you

  • Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role
  • Comfortable working independently in a stand-alone position
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information clearly
  • Part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience
