Butler Rose is exclusively recruiting a UK Finance Director for a leading manufacturing and engineering business in Devon. We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the UK finance function, partnering with operational leadership teams across multiple manufacturing sites to drive financial performance, operational excellence and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the UK business, supporting long-term growth and operational performance.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Deliver commercial insight to support investment decisions, profitability improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, governance and compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risk across the business.
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to improve productivity, cost efficiency and margin performance.
  • Support capital expenditure planning, business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the UK finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and strong cross‑functional collaboration.

About You

  • Qualified finance professional with significant senior leadership experience.
  • Background in manufacturing, aerospace, engineering or industrial sectors.
  • Experience within multi-site and/or international organisations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and operational finance expertise.
  • Knowledge of standard costing, inventory management and manufacturing finance.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
