Butler Rose are delighted to be partnering with a well‑established and growing organisation who are seeking a talented Finance Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional looking to step into a broad, varied role with real influence. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal part in the day‑to‑day financial operations as well as the longer‑term financial planning of the business. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a mix of management accounting, financial controls, cash management, and team collaboration‑along with the opportunity to step up and provide cover for the Finance Director when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Director across all areas of financial management, deputising when needed.
- Daily cashflow management, banking activities, invoice finance oversight, and control of cash transactions.
- Oversee the purchase ledger and assist with queries when required.
- Manage the monthly payroll (SAGE) and provide occasional cover for weekly payroll.
- Handle credit control queries and processes.
- Assist with monthly management accounts, variance analysis, departmental budgets, multi‑year forecasting, and operational KPIs.
- Support the year‑end audit process.
- Maintain accurate financial data and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
- Foster collaboration with departments across the business and communicate financial insights effectively.
Skills & Experience
- Broad finance department experience, ideally in a hands‑on and varied role.
- Strong understanding of management accounting, financial controls, and cash management.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Ideally experienced with SAGE Payroll and/or Business Central.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to influence decision‑making or the ambition to develop this skill further.
- AAT qualified (or equivalent) or QBE.
