A large FMCG business based in Clitheroe are seeking a permanent Demand Planner to join their Supply Chain team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role in which you will play a key part in producing accurate demand forecasts that drive exceptional customer service, efficient manufacturing operations, and reduced waste. This is a hybrid role, where you will be based onsite in Clitheroe for 3 days and working 2 days from home.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of fast-moving SKUs with short shelf lives, requiring a proactive approach to frequent daily and weekly shifts in demand. You will be responsible for creating dependable, unbiased demand forecasts across short-, medium-, and long-term planning horizons to support effective business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of the full demand forecasting process across SKU, customer, and category levels
- Manage changing daily and weekly demand patterns, including promotional activity, customer orders, and EPOS trends
- Develop, maintain, and refine statistical and consensus forecasts across daily, weekly, and monthly planning cycles
- Monitor forecast performance, accuracy, and bias, investigating variances and identifying root causes
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Production Planning, and Site teams across Clitheroe and Grimsby to align demand and operational plans
- Partner with Commercial and Category teams to stay informed on promotions, product launches, and delist activity
- Contribute forecasting insights, analysis, and recommendations during S&OP and IBP discussions
- Ensure forecasting data remains accurate and up to date across systems and planning tools
- Analyse EPOS data, shipment trends, phasing, and run rates to create demand plans that accurately reflect customer requirements
- Identify, investigate, and escalate data inconsistencies or system-related issues where necessary
- Support ongoing improvements to forecasting processes, reporting tools, and KPI dashboards
- Track forecasting performance across customers, categories, and SKUs, providing meaningful insights to drive continuous improvement
- Identify risks and opportunities relating to stock levels, customer service performance, and production capacity planning
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Previous experience within Demand Planning, Forecasting and Supply Chain
- Experience within FMCG would be highly advantageous
- Highly organised
- Excellent stakeholder management
