Client Accountant
Aylesbury / Hybrid (1-2 days in the office)
Salary: Up to £38,000 + Benefits
Butler Rose is working alongside a growing Practice firm in their search for a confident and experienced Client Accountant who is ready to take ownership of an existing portfolio of clients.
Youll be a key contact for your clients, overseeing their accounting and tax requirements while building trusted relationships and offering support whenever needed.
The Role:
As Client Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact.
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax computations from start to finish.
- Completing and reviewing Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, directors and sole traders.
- Preparing, reviewing and filing VAT returns.
- Providing clients with practical advice on tax, cash flow, payroll and day-to-day financial matters.
- Preparing management accounts and assisting with budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
- Liaising directly with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Managing client deadlines and workflow through practice management systems.
- Handling company secretarial filings and maintaining statutory records.
- Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and add value through additional support and services.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who:
- Have several years experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Are comfortable taking over and managing a portfolio of clients independently.
- Can confidently communicate with clients and provide practical advice and guidance.
- Have experience preparing year-end accounts and tax computations from start to finish.
- Have worked with SME and owner-managed businesses.
- Are part-qualified or qualified (ACCA, ACA, AAT or equivalent), or qualified by experience.
- Possess strong organisational skills and can manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
