A leading accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Director to join its growing tax team. This is a senior leadership role focused on managing a portfolio of private clients, delivering both compliance and advisory services, and supporting the continued growth of the tax offering. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing client relationships, mentoring team members, and identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients across a broad range of sectors.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients, overseeing the compliance process.
  • Identify tax-sensitive expenditure and wider tax issues.
  • Support senior leadership in delivering tax advisory services.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the private client tax team through coaching and appraisals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings.
  • Monitor utilisation, productivity, and work in progress (WIP).
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to junior team members.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Personal Requirements

  • CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA (or equivalent) qualified.
  • Strong personal, private client, or mixed tax experience within a professional practice environment.
  • Excellent technical tax knowledge with the ability to research complex legislation.
  • Experience managing client relationships and leading teams.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify business development opportunities.
  • Exposure to multiple industry sectors would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
