I'm currently working exclusively with a well-established and growing business in the Kendal area to recruit an experienced Management Accountant. This is a broad and commercially focused finance role, reporting directly to the leadership team and offering exposure across multiple entities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. It would suit a hands-on accountant who enjoys ownership, variety, and working closely with operational stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and consolidation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities using Xero
- Processing sales transactions, including additional sales items and incentives
- Balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, VAT, WIP, and other control accounts
- Processing ad-hoc supplier and business payments across group entities
- Weekly payroll processing for a small employee base
- Preparation and submission of Group VAT and CIS returns
- Statutory reporting and filing requirements, including submissions to Companies House
- Producing cost-to-date reporting and financial analysis for internal stakeholders
- Updating project cost of sales and monitoring financial performance
- Preparing weekly and monthly management reporting packs
- Cash flow forecasting and supporting preparation of forecast financial statements
- Producing monthly compliance and reporting packs for external funders
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Supporting year-end audit processes and liaising with external auditors
Candidate Profile
- You will ideally be part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience (ACCA / CIMA / ACA preferred)
- Experienced in management accounts preparation within an SME or multi-entity environment
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of the finance function
- Strong on systems, with experience of cloud-based accounting software
- Detail-oriented, commercially aware, and able to build relationships across the business
