Butler Rose Leadership are delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly regarded multi-site organisation in Cumbria as they seek to appoint an IT Manager to lead the operational delivery of IT services across the Group. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business experiencing significant growth and investment, where technology is recognised as a key enabler of future success.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management, performance and development of the Group's IT function across multiple locations. Managing a team of three IT professionals, this role is ideally suited to an experienced IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager or Senior IT Engineer looking for the next step in their career and a genuine springboard into a broader leadership position within the next 18-24 months.
The Opportunity
- Ensure the smooth, secure and effective operation of the Group's IT infrastructure, systems and support services, delivering a high-quality service to users across multiple sites.
- Oversee operational IT delivery, drive service improvements and ensure the IT function evolves in line with the organisation's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day IT operation across a multi-site environment.
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of three IT professionals.
- Ensure the availability, performance and security of infrastructure, systems and networks.
- Oversee IT support services and maintain high levels of customer service across the organisation.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers, partners and third-party support providers.
- Lead on IT procurement activities and ensure value for money across technology investments.
- Support cyber security initiatives, disaster recovery planning and business continuity processes.
- Monitor IT performance and identify opportunities for service improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and align IT delivery accordingly.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, system implementations and technology projects as the business continues to expand.
- Assist with budget management and IT expenditure planning.
About You
- Previous experience managing IT operations within a multi-site environment.
- Experience leading or supervising technical teams.
- Strong infrastructure knowledge across Microsoft technologies, networks, servers and cloud platforms.
- A good understanding of cyber security best practice and IT governance.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and service providers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
