Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established firm based in Bridgnorth. They have a great opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior or recently promoted to Audit Assistant Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, while supervising junior team members and contributing to the firm's continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a portfolio of clients in accordance with UK auditing standards (ISA (UK)).
- Prepare and review audit planning documents, risk assessments, and audit strategy memos.
- Supervise and review the work of audit juniors and semi-seniors, ensuring compliance with firm methodology and professional standards.
- Perform technical reviews of financial statements prepared under FRS 102, FRS 105, and IFRS where applicable.
- Liaise with clients and audit managers throughout the audit process to ensure effective communication and timely completion.
- Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations for process improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during audit engagements, maintaining strong working relationships.
- Manage client expectations and ensure excellent service delivery.
- Assist in resolving technical accounting and auditing queries.
- Coach, mentor, and support junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.
Key Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist) with a strong academic background.
- Minimum 3-5 years of audit experience in a UK public practice environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102 / 105) and ISA (UK) auditing standards.
- Experience with audit software such as CaseWare, CCH, or Mercia Audit.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based accounting systems.
- Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
