An established accountancy practice is seeking a Bookkeeper to join its St Ives office, supporting a varied portfolio of clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements.

The role would suit someone with solid bookkeeping knowledge who is confident working accurately and enjoys dealing directly with clients.

Practice experience is preferred but not essential, and the successful candidate will work closely with the wider accounts team to ensure clients receive an efficient and high-quality service.

  • Role Responsibilities
  • Managing the bookkeeping needs of a portfolio of clients.
  • Posting and processing sales and purchase invoices.
  • Completing bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Answering ad hoc client queries via email, telephone and face-to-face.
  • Working closely with the accounts team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Supporting clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements.
  • Personal Requirements
  • Experience using Xero and Sage is desirable and beneficial, although training can be provided.
  • Previous accountancy practice experience is essential.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to deal directly with clients.
  • Well organised and able to manage workloads effectively.
