An exciting manufacturing business in Darwen are seeking a permanent Management Accountant to join their team. This organisation is on a huge growth trajectory, so are seeking a candidate with a passion for driving business performance to join their dynamic finance team, playing a key part in shaping financial reporting, enhancing operational processes and delivering clear financial insight to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Monthly Management Accounts: Create detailed management accounts, highlighting variances and providing insightful commentary to inform decision-making.
- Fixed Asset Register: Ensure the accuracy of the fixed asset records and compliance with regulations.
- Accruals & Prepayments: Prepare and process accruals and prepayments according to accounting standards.
- Debtors Ledger Support: Assist with the full debtor ledger, resolving discrepancies swiftly and efficiently.
- Foreign Imports: Ensure accurate costings for foreign imports, including shipping, duties, and VAT.
- Quarterly VAT Returns: Handle VAT submissions, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform and manage reconciliations, maintaining financial accuracy.
- Intercompany Balances: Oversee the reconciliation and management of intercompany transactions.
- Returns Processing: Work closely with the customer service teams to ensure accurate financial recording of returns and credit notes.
- Lease Agreements: Keep track of lease schedules, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Stock Management: Oversee inventory movements and ensure accurate stock valuation.
- Cost Analysis: Dive into manufacturing costs, analyse margins, and recommend actions for cost optimization.
- Support Audits: Assist with both internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with production, procurement, and supply chain departments to provide financial insights and support continuous improvement projects.
- Team Support: Mentor and support junior team members, encouraging growth and development within the department.
- Ad-hoc Reports: Provide additional financial analysis and reports as needed.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or QBE certified with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Manufacturing Experience: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, standard costs, and ERP systems.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Able to document, analyse, and present financial data effectively.
- Proven Experience: A solid ability to drive control processes, work independently, and lead by example.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for building relationships across teams.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experienced with financial software.
- Time Management: A proactive approach, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative Environment: Work closely with various teams to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and processes.
