Butler Rose is delighted to be supporting a growing and forward-thinking business in their search for a Management Accountant on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and hands‐on accounts professional to take ownership of the day‐to‐day management accounts and play a key role in the company's continued success. Part‐time hours will be c20hrs to 24hrs a week - this is an office based position only. This position has the opportunity to go permanent after completing a successful FTC. WFH one day a week - free parking on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Month‐End Reporting: Prepare, finalise and report accurate and timely month‐end financial reports, including journals, P&Ls, accruals and pre‐payments.
- Financial Support to the Director: Work closely with the company Director, providing insight into financial performance, supporting decision‐making, and contributing to business planning.
- Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to streamline existing finance processes and improve reporting capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- A strong background in month‐end
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of the finance function
- Excellent attention to detail and time‐management skills
- Experience using accounting software and proficient in Excel
- Qualified, PQ, QBE or AAT qualified would be advantageous
