Butler Rose is delighted to be partnering with a public sector client in Aylesbury. They are seeking a Senior Auditor to deliver a high-quality internal audit service across the organisation and external clients. This is a temporary role until the end of March, offering hybrid working (a mix of home and office/onsite client premises) and paying up to Β£22.75 per hour PAYE. DBS Check: Basic.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Audit Manager in planning and delivering audits, producing reports, providing consultative advice, and contributing to overall service development.
- Conduct audits with professional care, ensuring compliance with standards, financial regulations, and organisational policies.
- Recommend actions to improve working practices and risk management.
- Assist in designing and updating audit plans and programmes.
- Deliver audit assignments on schedule, managing workloads efficiently.
- Maintain knowledge of finance, accounting, auditing, and risk management developments.
- Monitor the Whistleblowing hotline and audit mailbox, responding as required.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support effective governance and assurance.
Person Specification:
- Significant experience in an audit role with evidence of specialist expertise.
- Expert knowledge of professional auditing standards, accountancy skills, and audit techniques.
- Ability to deliver complex audit programmes and meet operational targets.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills at all levels.
- Degree-level education professional qualification (CCAB/CIIA) desirable.
- Ability to travel across the county as required and communicate fluently in English.
