Coventry (Hybrid) Salary up to £65,000 (Negotiable, depending on experience level). Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the appointment of an Audit Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional to take responsibility for coordinating and supervising the activities of the external audit department, including the management of teams, workflow, and client relationships. The successful candidate will also play a key role in ensuring effective controls are maintained and supporting the firm's practice assurance and compliance requirements.

Role Requirements

  • Lead and manage audit teams to ensure timely completion of audits and achievement of audit objectives.
  • Manage and deliver audit engagements from planning through to completion - reporting directly to the RI.
  • Resource planning including booking of audits and onsite audit team.
  • Provide guidance and training to audit staff, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Support the firm with audit and practice assurance compliance.
  • Liaise with external providers during compliance visits and file reviews.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and incorporate them into audit processes and procedures.
  • Any other ad hoc work as required.

Personal Requirements

  • Assistant Manager/Audit Manager experience in UK accountancy practice.
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Ability to manage and coach a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
