A top 50 accountancy practice is looking for an enthusiastic Audit Assistant to become part of its Corporate Audit and Advisory team. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of clients across multiple industries and provides a supportive environment that encourages learning and career progression. You will work closely with senior colleagues to deliver high-quality audit services while contributing to the development and success of the team.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform audit work on financial statement areas to a high standard with guidance from senior staff.
- Assist with preparation of individual and consolidated financial statements, mainly under UK GAAP.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and their teams.
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and firm standards.
- Monitor deadlines, manage workload effectively, and understand the commercial implications of work completed.
- Set and track job budgets with oversight from senior team members.
- Attend training to develop both technical expertise and personal skills.
- Provide constructive feedback to junior colleagues to support their growth.
- Adhere to risk management procedures and contribute to the overall success of the department.
Personal Requirements
- Part-qualified ACA or ACCA; AAT Level 4 also considered if relevant.
- Experience working with external clients and assisting in financial statement preparation.
- Auditing experience across a variety of sectors, including commercial and not-for-profit.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, accounting software, and digital communication tools.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High level of confidentiality and professional integrity.
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset with a commitment to outstanding client service.
- Willingness to travel to other offices within East Anglia when required.
