Butler Rose are pleased to be recruiting for a leading accountancy practice for an Accounts Senior role based in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and growing Top 80 UK firm that offers genuine scope for career development within a supportive, award‑winning culture.
Duties
- Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts, corporation tax, and personal tax returns for directors.
- Meet regularly with key clients to discuss their financial performance and provide proactive advice.
- Review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and ensuring files are ready for senior review.
- Support and mentor colleagues from apprentice level through to senior, contributing to the day‑to‑day management of the accounts team.
- Ensure accounts and tax returns are submitted in line with compliance and close‑down procedures.
- Monitor client issues, providing solutions and maintaining high levels of service.
- Manage your own client workflow, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Identify opportunities for cross‑selling additional services across the firm.
What we’re looking for
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years' post‑qualification experience.
- Proven background within an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS102, FRS102 Section 1A, and FRS105.
- Experience with consolidations and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their professional development.
