Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting one of our clients who has an opportunity for a Team Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for ensuring the team delivers.
Role Requirements
- Hit the team fee target.
- Forecast weekly to month-end.
- Flag risks early with a plan, not just the problem.
- The team's numbers are your numbers, no surprises.
- Manage by exception; every job has budget hours in the system before work starts.
- Weekly red, amber, green review; act on amber, not just red.
- Uphold communication and quality standards in the team's work, client interactions, and personal conduct.
- Run monthly 1:1s that drive outcomes, with documented actions.
- Conduct six-monthly development reviews on time, ensuring every team member is on a defined career pathway.
- Address underperformance early and ensure probation reviews are conducted on time.
- Act on performance concerns within two weeks.
- Own how client issues get resolved, driving fixes and preventing recurrence.
- Keep the SCA informed on every issue, whether they lead the client conversation or you handle it directly.
Personal Requirements
- Two-plus years in practice, at reviewer level or above.
- Solid grounding in corporation tax, personal tax, accounts production, and business software systems.
- Some experience leading or coordinating people in any context, even informally.
- ACA/ACCA welcome but not essential; operational and people judgement matters more than letters after your name.
