Are you an experienced Senior Payroll Manager looking for a role where you can take real ownership, lead an established team and play a key part in growing a successful payroll service?

The role can be based from Warrington or Liverpool with a salary of circa £60,000-£70,000 + bonus and will be predominantly home-based / hybrid

This could be an excellent opportunity to step into a senior position with a well-established and growing professional services business.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The business is bringing an established payroll operation in-house, comprising approximately 300 clients and £330k of annual fee income, and is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to take the lead.

You will oversee a team of payroll professionals, support the transition into the business and become a key part of the future development and growth of the payroll service.

This is much more than a processing role. You will have the opportunity to shape the department, develop the team, improve processes and contribute to the growth of the client base and service line.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Taking overall responsibility for the payroll department and helping shape its future strategy
  • Supporting the smooth transition of the payroll operation into the business
  • Overseeing accurate weekly and monthly payroll processing
  • Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation, tax regulations and statutory deadlines
  • Overseeing year-end processes and accurate RTI submissions
  • Leading, supporting, training and mentoring a team of payroll professionals
  • Supporting recruitment and development as the team grows
  • Ensuring payroll queries are dealt with efficiently and professionally
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery
  • Contributing to the growth of the payroll service, including business development and marketing activity


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • We're looking for an experienced payroll professional with a proven track record of managing payroll operations and leading a team
  • You will ideally hold relevant payroll qualifications and have strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
  • We're particularly interested in someone who is commercially minded and enjoys the opportunity to do more than simply manage the day-to-day payroll function

WHAT'S ON OFFER?

  • £60,000-£70,000, depending on experience
  • Up to 10% annual bonus linked to KPIs and performance
  • Predominantly home-based / hybrid working
  • Office base in Warrington or Liverpool, depending on your location
  • Flexible working with core hours of 10am-3pm
  • 27 days holiday, plus your birthday and Christmas Eve and Bank Holidays
