A well-established Top 40 accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Manager to join its Stamford office. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of clients within a supportive and collaborative environment, working with businesses ranging from sole traders and partnerships to charities and limited companies. Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring the timely completion and submission of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including attending client meetings and acting as a trusted point of contact.
  • Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies.
  • Produce year-end accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Monitor workflow, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within budgets and deadlines.
  • Support the planning and allocation of work across the team, taking resourcing requirements into account.
  • Assist with the development and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Prepare schedules for tax returns.
  • Complete VAT returns.
  • Ensure work is delivered to a high professional standard and in line with relevant accounting guidelines.

Personal Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong general practice experience across accounts and tax compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Full ability to travel to client premises and between offices when required.
