Production Manager to join a well-established manufacturer renowned for producing premium, high-quality products.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven operational leader to take ownership of a large-scale manufacturing operation, combining modern manufacturing techniques with a strong focus on quality, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a substantial production workforce, driving performance across productivity, quality, safety, and cost whilst developing a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include

  • Leading daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, service, and cost targets.
  • Developing and implementing production plans aligned with customer demand and business objectives.
  • Ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
  • Monitoring operational performance through KPIs and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Working closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to optimise performance.
  • Driving Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve material utilisation, and enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Optimising workflow, workshop layouts, workstation design, and production sequencing.
  • Managing production costs and supporting inventory and stock control activities.
  • Utilising MRP and other manufacturing systems for planning, scheduling, labour deployment, and reporting.
  • Developing capacity and resource plans to meet changing customer demand.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a large production team.
  • Building a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Managing workforce planning, training, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Supporting apprentice development and knowledge transfer programmes.
  • Championing a quality-first culture and driving right-first-time manufacturing.
  • Maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards across the operation.
  • Promoting world-class housekeeping standards through 5S methodologies.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate

  • Significant experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role.
  • Proven success managing large production teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong track record of delivering operational improvements and driving business performance.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, workforce management, and performance optimisation.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people development skills.
  • A hands-on management style with the ability to engage and motivate teams at all levels.
  • Experience working within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
