COST CONTROLLER
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract: 2-year fixed-term contract

We're looking for a Cost Controller to support cost management, financial reporting and procurement activities, helping ensure budgets are monitored effectively and spending remains aligned with business requirements.
Working closely with the Cost Control Lead, you'll play an important role in analysing costs, supporting forecasts and maintaining strong financial controls across key contracts and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver cost reporting and monitoring across nominated spending categories.
Support monthly accruals, operating expenditure (OPEX) forecasts and month-end reporting.
Extract and analyse financial data from SAP, including Value of Work Done (VOWD).
Assist with variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and business plans.
Review contract costs, identifying discrepancies, risks and opportunities to reduce unnecessary spending.
Monitor timesheet submissions and carry out time-writing analysis.
Support the purchase-to-pay (P2P) process, including purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Ensure purchase orders are accurate, appropriately coded and closed when completed.
Process service entries for invoices and proformas through SAP.
Review change requests and ensure purchase order increases are approved before work begins.
Work with internal teams and suppliers to support effective cost control and financial governance.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience using SAP.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Experience in finance, cost control or commercial administration.
An HNC in Business Management or equivalent experience, or someone developing their career in this area.
