- Verify insurance eligibility via online resources or phone, and enter details in Avatar.
- Update Teletracking with anticipated insurance impacts and admissions.
- Complete MSPQ with Medicare patients.
- Scan patient\’s insurance card and ID, and file appropriately.
- Ensure all scanned information is under the correct episode and benefits.
- Photograph patient, create labels, print bracelets when applicable.
- Obtain patient\’s signature on financial forms for billing purposes.
- Notify Financial Counselor of patients with financial responsibilities.
- Refer patients to Financial Counselor for guidance on co-pays, payment plans, or financial assistance applications.
Refer patients for collection of copays/deductibles.
Patient Access Associate Level I staff, if credentialed as a Navigator, may cover Financial Counselor Level II duties as needed.
Work with desktop computers using programs like AVATAR, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teletracking, CERNER, PatientTrak, and digital cameras.
Operate phone systems and office equipment: PC, copier, fax, cordless headset, Cyracom Language Line.
Schedule: 40/80 Full-Time Evenings – Every Other Weekend
This position is a permanent replacement for a striking employee, classified as a \’regular\’ employee under the National Labor Relations Act. Employment is subject to performance standards and conditions of Butler Hospital.
