Responsibilities:
- Explain financial requirements and insurance/third-party payor hospitalization benefits to patients or responsible parties.
- Interpret and provide information regarding patient copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and lifetime maximums.
- Collect patient liabilities and arrange payment plans.
- Apply applicable Community Benefit and Prompt Pay discounts.
- Meet with Medicare-exhausted patients and evaluate additional payment sources.
- Assess patients lacking proper benefits for behavioral health services for additional payment sources.
- Review long-stay patients to ensure proper coverage.
- Follow up on missing insurance/financial forms identified by the registration team.
- Complete Missed MSP questionnaires to finalize insurance billing.
Special Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of insurance benefit experience required.
- Epic experience preferred.
- Health Insurance Navigator Certification preferred.
Schedule: 40/80 Full-Time Days, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Note: This position is a permanent replacement for a striking employee. Employment is subject to performance standards and conditions of employment at Butler Hospital.
