The Liberation Group in Guernsey are recruiting! We are looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to come and join our Flagship store in St Peter Port, located on the stunning harbour with a huge potential for footfall business. If you have a background in retail management and a true passion for all things drink - we would love to hear from you! This role would suit someone from a retail background or potentially someone from a hospitality background who has a good knowledge and strong passion for drinks.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the store, including organising rotas, coordinating shifts, and leading the team on the shop floor to ensure smooth operations and a consistently high standard of service.
- Taking ownership of stock management, from monitoring levels and analysing sales trends to placing orders, managing deliveries, and ensuring the shop is always well‑stocked with the right products.
- Assisting with financial reporting, including tracking sales performance, maintaining margin awareness, and identifying opportunities to drive revenue and improve profitability.
- Delivering an exceptional customer experience by creating a welcoming, engaging environment and confidently offering product recommendations based on strong drinks knowledge.
- Supporting the training and development of team members, helping to build confidence, product knowledge, and service standards across the team.
- Executing in‑store promotions and visual merchandising, ensuring displays are on‑brand, visually appealing, and aligned with seasonal campaigns and business priorities.
